This year marks the 10th anniversary of the decisions by Cincinnati Public Schools and the state of Ohio to build LEED schools. Working with Environmental ALI’s Growing Green and Healthy Schools’ Network, students and teachers from four schools provided key advocacy for LEED Schools. Environmental ALI brought together over 70 organizations and companies to partner with CPS in support of Green Schools, resulting in $2 Million+ in demonstration projects of green roofs, bio-swales, reclaimed wood made into school furniture and more! These projects have been vital learning tools for the Next Gen: Green!
CPS continues to be a leader with 22 LEED schools and Ohio far outstrips every other state with 286 such schools.
Join us on Friday, October 20 in recognizing the significance of this achievement and setting a vision for the future!

Partner for Green STEM Fairs
Environmental ALI completed two days of Green STEM Fairs involving over 150 students. The student groups learned about solar technology, water quality, energy efficiency and much more. The Fairs were hosted by the University of Cincinnati’s Office of Innovation and Community Partnerships and featured students from John P. Parker and Taft STEM schools. Many thanks to all the station leaders, volunteers, and Assistant Dean Kathy Maynard for making these two days a great success!
Thanks for support from Duke Energy Foundation!
